EPA Training Center is a partner of the Green Initiative, a non-profit organization that contributes to the improvement of environmental services, such as biodiversity, water and air quality.
In 2021, the EPA team surveyed CO2 emissions from employee transportation and business travels. Based on the results, a contract was signed in 2022 with the Green Initiative to offset emissions through restoration of native woodlands in the Atlantic Rainforest. The partnership was renewed in 2023.
As a result, the Green Initiative in partnership with EPA already planted 1.001 trees and restored an area of 6,000 square meters in Serra da Mantiqueira to offset the emission of 234.62 tons of CO2.
